House sales up 8.3% in January
Figures from the Real Estate Institute show an 8.3 percent increase in the number of homes being sold last month, compared with January.
The median house price went up $5,000 to $330,000.
Institute president Mike Elford says there has been a significant turnaround in enquiry levels and sales, which topped well over 5,200.
But that is still well down on the same time last year, and ASB economist Jane Turner says she is placing little weight on the recovery. She says the increase just reflects the usual bounce post holiday period. |
