What is the cost like of living in New Zealand at
present? While living in New Zealand might not be the cheapest in the
world, it is definitely affordable. New Zealand offers a good standard of living
and is cheaper than cities of the world such as New York , Paris , Sydney and
even Glasgow and Madrid .
Most cities in New Zealand have world class
amenities. New Zealand also manufactures a wide range of consumer good of a
style and standard comparable to world class. Labor laws and wages are designed
to support a well paid labor force. It is also one of the safest and comfortable
places to bring up a young family.
In a recent survey carried out by
Mercer Human Resource Consulting which measures the cost of living in 144 cities
across six continents. New Zealand's cities ranked just about in the middle of
the survey. New Zealand cities Auckland and Wellington , ranked 69th and 76th
respectively. Cities such as Sydney ranked 20th , Glasgow 40th and Madrid 47th

countries? New Zealand is a country which is full of natural beauty,
warm people, culture and rugby. All kiwis refer to New Zealand as Godzone and
believe it is the best place in the world to live. New Zealand cities have
constantly been ranked as the top places in the world to live.

In the latest 2006 Mercer Quality of Life Survey carried out
in 215 cities worldwide, was based on criteria such as political, social,
economic/environmental factors, personal safety, health, education, transport
and other public services. Some of the other criteria included in the survey was
its relationship with other countries, internal stability and crime, including
terrorism. Personal freedom, censorship and law enforcement were also taken into
account. New Zealand cities Auckland and Wellington ranked 5th and 12th overall.
